Recently, the National Natural Science Foundation of China Basic Science Center project "Ultra-deep and Extra-deep Oil and Gas Drilling and Production Flow Regulation" led by Academician Sun Jinsheng was held at China University of Petroleum (East China).

Deputy Director Wang Qidong congratulated China University of Petroleum (East China), the project undertaking unit, and believed that the basic science center project, as the "peak on the mountain", is the highest-positioned project in the talent project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. Under the guidance of the expert group, the project team can tackle key problems around core scientific issues, focus on promoting interdisciplinary integration, have the courage to climb the peak of science, and cultivate more outstanding scientific and technological talents, produced a number of international leading level of original results.
Academician Sun Jinsheng reported the overall progress of the project, and the project leaders reported the progress of the project respectively. The expert group believes that the overall progress of the project is smooth, the stage research content and expected indicators specified in the mission statement have been fully completed, and constructive suggestions are put forward for the next step of the project.
Academician Sun Jinsheng made a concluding speech at the conference and sincerely thanked the expert group for their valuable opinions. The basic science center project of "ultra-deep, ultra-deep oil and gas drilling and production flow regulation" is based on China University of Petroleum (East China) and jointly declared by China Petroleum Engineering Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd. and Ningbo Oriental University of Technology (tentative name). It is the first basic science center project in China's oil and gas field. The project is aimed at the national major strategic demand for safe supply of oil and gas, focusing on the "stuck neck" problems and major technical bottlenecks such as ultra-high temperature and high salt drilling working fluid materials, malignant leakage prevention and control, flow control software, intelligent control technology, etc., relying on the first-class platform and leading scholars in the oil and gas field, to carry out basic research on ultra-deep and ultra-deep oil and gas drilling flow control, and innovation theory and method, open up the international academic frontier of ultra-high temperature pressure, ultra-high salt and ultra-high stress formation drilling and production flow control, and lead the development of international ultra-deep oil and gas science and technology.
