The CST capillary absorption time tester measures the time required for the slurry made of various test liquids and shale powder to seep through a certain distance of special filter paper. This value is called CST value. CST capillary absorption time tester has been widely used abroad since 1970. It can be used in many fields, such as sewage treatment (rapid testing of sludge filtration characteristics and status), testing and research of oilfield chemical treatment agents (evaluation of mud inhibition dispersion ability, anti-swelling ability of drilling fluid, inhibition of hydration dispersion ability of drilling fluid, optimization of working fluid formula into wells, such as the type, dosage and ratio of treatment agents, etc, it can also be used as a new method for analyzing and evaluating shale classification).
